Foyht was established when we recognised that those practicing in the Holistic World of Health & Wellbeing often need some guidance, advice and protection in the business world in which they are working.
The benefits will be described later in this booklet – but do take a minute to look at the Health & Wellbeing Magazine. This is to be developed to include specific groups including ‘mother & baby’, ‘physical therapists’, ‘all things swimming’ and ‘meditation & mindfulness’. All the articles are written by members for members and the public. We consider this a source of information, and the pages are well received.
The Directory, too, is unique in its ambitions. It provides an opportunity for all members to tell the world about themselves – and, importantly, enables all the world to find a local therapist. We have members in the UK, across Europe, South Africa*, Bermuda – and one or two even further afield.
Attached to the ‘Directory’ is an event page. Here you can add details of your events – or search for others that might be of interest.
We welcome individuals, groups and both new and long-standing membership organisations to join us for the benefit of their members.

Malpractice and Public Liability Insurance for Your Practice (UK & South Africa)
Please note that at present we are unable to offer this benefit in South Africa
We have asked BGi.uk (Insurance & Risk Management Brokers) to prepare an insurance package for our members. In response, they have prepared several policies to accommodate all the variations required by our growing number of individual and group members.
They write “Insurance is seldom considered an interesting subject. However, it has enabled people and industry to flourish whilst being able to lay off some of the business risks that might otherwise have prevented them from proceeding with ideas that might often be considered risky.“
BGi.uk do write quite a lot more – but, as this surmises the principle, we thought this would do for now!
The Insurances available include protection for:

Public, Products and Employers Liability risks Insurance Includes protection against claims for damages or compensation made against you by ; your clients, your employees , the general public or other businesses; for personal injury or property damage caused (allegedly) by you

Malpractice & Professional Indemnity including ‘Run-Off’ cover There are various areas of potential risk that can be covered here – ranging from injury caused by you during your activities to financial loss caused by error or omission

Property (Buildings, Contents, equipment everything else!) Under this heading insurance is available for; Buildings including clinics, surgeries, homes, offices, industrial units, gyms and swimming pools – and even Teepees and caravans

Clinics, Surgeries & working from home Under this heading insurance is available for the area(s) in which you may work and will include the contents and operational liabilities of running the premises where you (and perhaps your team) work

Events, Retreats, Exhibitions and Tour Operators It is likely that your Liability and Malpractice Insurance will cover your liabilities arising from therapies, activities and treatments. The jurisdiction of where you work may be restricted and the insurance does not extend to include the arrangement of Events and Retreats. Furthermore, if in arranging your retreat or event, you include more than one service** you will probably be subject to the liabilities placed upon ‘Tour Operators’. For example, in arranging a retreat for a group, you might also include travel arrangements, food and drink, excursions and experiences. Such actions can make you responsible for injury, damage or even unsatisfactory experience and Tour Operator Insurance is critical.

Libel, Slander, Website Infringement, Media Liability, Breach of Insurance under this heading falls into two categories.
1. The BGi.uk liability insurance for therapists is wider than most and extends to include incidental liabilities arising when you market your activities in any medium.
2. However, if you write books, podcasts or create webinars which have an intrinsic value, additional insurance should be considered. - Confidentiality

Loss of Reputation Loss of Reputation is automatically included within the BGi.uk Malpractice insurance and can help cover the costs of mitigating the additional and ancillary losses following a claim

Emergency First Aid Unfortunately, those who engage with situations requiring first aid often become the victim of ‘not doing it right’ or ‘not doing it in time’. The BGi.uk policy extends to include claims arising from the insured engaging in Emergency First Aid
- Data Loss and Cyber Liabilities
Malpractice and Public Liability Insurance for Your Practice (EU/EEA)
Ensure your practice is protected with comprehensive insurance coverage from Foyht. Here are the key points of your policy:
- Public Liability: Coverage up to €5,000,000 per insured person or business.
- Malpractice and Professional Indemnity: Up to €5,000,000 in coverage.
- Worldwide Coverage: Practice anywhere globally except the USA and Canada.
- Products Liability: Coverage for items sold in connection with your business.
- Additional Legal Expenses: Available for Ireland only.
- Other Protections: Includes libel and slander, breach of confidentiality, and website infringement.
Take advantage of extra features like coverage for rented premises, loss of reputation, and emergency first aid. Customise your coverage based on your needs, with higher limits available upon request.
24/7 Professional Legal Advice & Support (UK Only)
Complaint assistance: Professional expenses to assist in preparing a response following a customer complaint related to the Insured’s business activities.- Disciplinary hearing cover: Legal representation during a disciplinary hearing conducted by a professional or regulatory body.
- Marketing image defense: Legal defense costs in relation to the use of permitted images featuring individuals in connection with your insured business activity.
- Tax investigations and dispute assistance: Professional representation in the event of a formal investigation or dispute with HMRC.
- Court attendance costs: Reimbursement for lost wages or salary if you are required to attend jury duty or serve as a witness in connection with an insured event.
24/7 Legal Support with ARAG (Ireland Only)
Foyht members in Ireland have access to ‘Essential Business Legal’ for 24/7 professional legal advice and support. Benefits include:
- Legal ‘Health Check’: Stay current on health and safety laws.
- Free Business Documents: Access employment and other documents.
- Dispute Resolution: Resolve issues with neighbours, suppliers, or partners.

The Success Spotlight
The Success Spotlight will feature each month a practitioner from our directory at the Support or Protect level, offering them the chance to provide free sessions to selected clients for a set period.
The practitioner will benefit from client testimonials, social media exposure, and increased visibility.
Additionaly, BGi.uk/BGi.eu will contribute up to £150 towards the practitioner’s Protect Membership (which includes Insurance).
Clients will share their positive experiences, providing valuable insights.
This initiative will off the Spot Lighted member free ongoing training and CPD, enhancing your practice and client connections.
