What is a Tour Operator?
When organising a retreat, you’ll be offering a range of services—either directly or through third parties—which classifies you as a Tour Operator. Tour operators are responsible for organising and preparing holiday tours, breaks and retreats. If you arrange two or more of the following services, you will be classified as a Tour Operator—and consequently, you may be held legally responsible if anything goes wrong.
- Transport (such as flight, coach, train)
- Accommodation (hotel, villa, apartment)
- Additional services (such as workshops, tours and excursions) that make up most of the retreat
- Car rental
As a (Support or Protect) member, you will not only receive preferential rates from our insurance partner, but also have a wide range of access to the additional benefits exclusive to our members.
The BGi.uk team is just a phone call away, ready to answer any of your questions. After all, the best way to ensure a smooth – and most importantly, fun – retreat is by having the right insurance in place.
